PEZ Launches Minecraft Dispensers: Steve, Creeper, Alex, and Pig Hit Shelves in March

PEZ is going full blocky. The company's Minecraft dispenser line hits stores this month with four characters: Steve, Creeper, Alex, and Pig. Each dispenser runs $2.29 at retail. Available individually, in twin packs ($5.99-$6.99), or as a four-piece gift set ($10.00-$12.99) that includes an exclusive Enderman dispenser you can't get anywhere else.

There's also a 12-count party pack for people who want to hand out Creepers at a birthday party. Which, honestly, tracks for Minecraft's audience.

The Gaming IP Play

This isn't PEZ's first time raiding the gaming shelf. Nintendo's Super Mario line has been in the PEZ catalog since the late 2000s. Mario, Princess Peach, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong have all had their turn on a candy stem. But Minecraft is different. It's the best-selling video game of all time. Over 300 million copies sold. And its audience skews younger than the Mario nostalgia crowd, which means PEZ is chasing the next generation of collectors, not just the current one.

The 2026 PEZ catalog leans hard into licensed IP across the board. Toy Story 5 dispensers drop May 1. Shrek gets a full refresh on July 1 with Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and Gingy. Shrek even gets a Giant PEZ release in September. Hello Kitty and Friends are getting new molds. Paw Patrol is adding Rex.

PEZ is not being subtle about the strategy. Lock down every IP that kids recognize. Turn it into a dispenser. Repeat.

What Collectors Should Actually Care About

For PEZ collectors, the interesting piece here is the Enderman. Gift set exclusives have a history of becoming the dispensers people hunt for later. The four-piece Minecraft gift set is the only way to get it. That's the kind of detail that matters in five years when someone posts a complete Minecraft PEZ set on eBay and the Enderman is the one driving the price.

A Zombie dispenser also joined the Minecraft assortment in 2025, bringing the total character count to six if you're tracking the full set. Steve, Creeper, Alex, Pig, Zombie, and Enderman. Not a bad roster.

The designs themselves lean into Minecraft's pixel aesthetic. Blocky heads on standard PEZ stems. They look like what they're supposed to look like. No one is going to mistake these for high art, but that's the point. Minecraft's visual language is so distinctive that it translates perfectly to a small plastic candy dispenser.

The Bigger Picture

PEZ collecting has always been a two-track hobby. There's the vintage side, where no-feet prototypes and softhead Disney characters sell for thousands. A Superman prototype just went for $7,320 at Goldin last week. That's the deep end.

Then there's the modern side. Licensed characters. Current IP. The kind of dispensers you buy at Target and throw in a drawer, then find ten years later and wonder if they're worth anything. Most of the time they're not. But the exclusives and the short-run variants? Those are the ones that quietly appreciate.

The Minecraft line is firmly in modern territory. Nobody is buying these as an investment. But PEZ collectors who track complete sets will want the Enderman gift set before it cycles out of production. That's how this works. The $12.99 gift set today is the $40 sealed set on eBay in 2030.

$2.29 per dispenser. The Enderman is gift-set only.
